Billionaire Summer Caps: Simple Hats, Personal Style

You would think a gathering nicknamed “Billionaire Summer Camp” would be full of flashy fashion. Instead, one of the things that stood out at the 2025 Allen & Company conference in Sun Valley was something much simpler: baseball caps.

That is what caught my attention. The hats were not necessarily about wearing the most expensive brand. A lot of them were simple caps that said something about the person wearing them—a company, team, project, interest or just their personal style.

Sometimes the Simplest Cap Says the Most

A cap gives you a small amount of space, but that can actually be part of the appeal. You do not need a huge design. A small embroidered logo, symbol or piece of lettering can be enough to show what you are connected to or what you care about.

One of the caps spotted at the conference even represented LA28, the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games coming to Los Angeles. That one immediately stood out to us for obvious reasons—we are right here in LA.

We See the Same Idea at Mr. Stitch

We do the same thing in our own way at Mr. Stitch. Our CEO regularly wears caps connected to work we have done, along with the classic Mr. Stitch Embroidery cap. It is an easy way to wear something connected to the shop without needing a big design.

Customers bring that same idea into our Sherman Oaks shop. Some want a company logo, some want a name or original design, and others simply want a cap that feels more personal than something pulled straight off the shelf.

Planning Your Own Custom Embroidered Cap

If you are starting your own cap project, I would begin with the hat itself and the artwork you want on it. The cap shape, front panels, seams and available space all affect how the embroidery will sit once it is finished.

Color matters too. A simple logo can look completely different depending on the cap color and thread combination, so it helps to think about both together instead of choosing them separately.

If you still need the cap itself, take a look at our apparel and headwear suppliers.

From Sun Valley to Sherman Oaks

The Sun Valley photos are a good reminder that a cap does not have to be expensive or complicated to say something about the person wearing it. Sometimes all it needs is the right hat and one detail that feels like you.

If you have a logo or cap idea of your own, bring it into our Sherman Oaks shop or send us the artwork. We work with Los Angeles customers on everything from individual custom hats to larger embroidered cap orders.
