Embroidery Turnaround Times in LA: What’s Realistic and What’s Not

Los Angeles moves quickly. We get customers coming into our Sherman Oaks shop with deadlines for events, productions, gifts, uniforms and plenty of last-minute projects. So one of the questions we hear all the time is: How fast can you get this embroidered?

The answer depends on what you are bringing us and what is already on our production schedule. We do take rush orders, and some projects can move very quickly, but not every order can be finished immediately.

Can You Embroider Something While I Wait?

Not usually. Some embroidery setups—like theme parks or small personalization counters—are built around adding a quick name or stock design while you wait. Our shop works differently because we usually have several custom orders moving through production at the same time.

That does not mean same-day embroidery is impossible. If the project is straightforward, you bring it in early enough and our schedule allows it, we may be able to finish it the same day. The best thing to do is ask us before assuming the timing.

How Fast Can a Rush Embroidery Order Be Done?

Rush timing changes throughout the year. A quiet week and a packed production week are obviously going to look very different, so the deadline and rush cost depend on the project and our current workload.

Some orders can be completed as quickly as the same day when they arrive early enough, and the project fits into the schedule. For anything time-sensitive, tell us the exact date you need it when you contact the shop.

Artwork, quantity, embroidery size and the item itself can all affect timing. A simple name on one garment is very different from a larger logo across several pieces.

What If You Need It for the Weekend?

Weekend deadlines come up a lot, especially for events. Our shop is closed Saturday and Sunday, so if you need something for the weekend, Friday becomes the important deadline.

We close at 4 PM on Fridays, and for a rush project needed that weekend, I would contact us as early as possible rather than showing up late Friday afternoon. Friday morning may still work for some projects, but it depends on what you need and what is already scheduled.

If Embroidery Is Too Tight, There May Be Another Option

Sometimes embroidery is not the fastest or best option for the deadline. Depending on the artwork and garment, vinyl or direct-to-film (DTF) may give us another way to complete the project.

Direct-to-Film (DTF)

For DTF, timing matters. For a same-day request, our current rush guidance is to have the order placed and confirmed by 10 AM at the latest. When possible, giving us a day or two is a much better approach.

DTF is especially useful when the artwork has multiple colors or printed detail, but the rush timing still depends on getting the order confirmed early enough. Learn more about our Direct to Film printing.

Vinyl

Vinyl can sometimes be more flexible, but quantity, design complexity and when you bring the items in still affect whether same-day work is realistic. You can see our other vinyl and heat-work options.

The Earlier You Ask, the Better

If you are working against a deadline, the best advice I can give is to contact us as early as you can. Tell us what the item is, how many you need, what you want added and the exact date you need everything finished.

We can then look at the project and tell you what is realistic—whether that means rush embroidery, DTF, vinyl or giving the job a little more time.
