Holiday Embroidery Orders in Los Angeles: Plan Ahead, Stress Less
Updated: 3 days ago

The holidays always seem far away until suddenly December is here. I love finding gifts for people, but I also know how quickly the fun part can turn into, “Wait…is this going to be ready in time?”
Around this time of year, we see more personalized holiday gifts, embroidered stockings, company gifts and one-of-a-kind pieces coming into our Sherman Oaks shop. My biggest recommendation is simple: start earlier than you think you need to.
Order Holiday Embroidery Early
The early bird gets the worm. In this case, the early bird gets their gift on time and saves money. As the holidays are here, turnaround times get longer as there are more orders to fulfill. Currently, we are at a 10 working day turn-around time. It is crucial to get your gifts in early. November is the time to place your orders.
Why Starting in November Helps
November usually gives you more breathing room than waiting until the middle of December. More importantly, it gives you time to actually think about the personalization instead of settling for whatever decision can be made fastest.
Take embroidered Christmas stockings as an example. You might want everyone’s name in the same font for a matching family set, or choose different lettering for each person. Those little decisions are much easier when the order is not being rushed.
You could also keep the same font but give each person a small symbol that feels like them. If I were making one for myself, I’d probably choose my name in a cursive font with a little heart after it. That is the kind of detail that turns a regular stocking into something personal.

Give Yourself Time to Enjoy the Holidays
Ordering something last minute can be stressful. Questions flow through your mind.
When will it be ready? How long will it take? Why did I wait?
Preparing with time will allow for your stress and anxiety to be reduced. Breathe easy this holiday season.
Having everything prepared allows more time to enjoy the festive times.
Rush Orders Can Cost More
The later, the more expensive. Rushing an item can be costly. This is due to the pending orders that have set turnaround times. Although rush services are available, expect to pay more. A rush fee will allow you to get your item when you need it. Getting a head start will let your pocket take a break from all the extra holiday expenses that arise.
Personalized Holiday Gift Ideas
Now that we have said earlier is best, let's think of some ideas that will make your gifts pop.
Blankets: Is there a new baby in the family? Keep them a warm bundle of joy in a personalized blanket. It would be a great family keepsake that Mom and Dad can hold on to. We have cute colors to pick from, as well as sweet and stylish fonts.
Jackets: A cute jacket is a great gift. I have gotten some over the years that I love. When it gets cold, I bring them out and remember those who gave it to me fondly. As a kid, I'd lose my jacket at school or fight over whose jacket was whose with my sister. Adding initials to hidden parts of jackets makes them easier to find, and everyone knows whose jacket is whose.
Designs: Names and initials are always great on gifts, but designs are even better. My little cousin is obsessed with bunnies. She even has one as a pet named Roro. Getting her a gift with a bunny on it and the name Roro would make her ecstatic.
It’s Usually the Little Details
At the end of the day, personalized gifts are usually about the little details. A name, date, favorite symbol or carefully chosen color can take something useful and make it feel like it was actually chosen for that person.
If you are planning holiday embroidery in Los Angeles, bring your gift idea into our Sherman Oaks shop or send us the item, artwork and deadline as early as you can. We’ll let you know what is realistic for the holiday schedule. Happy Holidays!
