We can officially say our patches are out of this world! The Polaris Dawn crew wore some patches by Mr. Stitch to space! They wore our patches out in space on their left shoulder. They did some cool things out there including a spacewalk. All 4 crew members were exposed to space as 2 members peeked their torsos out of the ship to look outside. They were able to conduct 40 Starlink experiments while in space. Using Starlink, they were able to make calls to Earth from space.
Both women were able to share some of their work on Earth in space. Anna Menon read a book she co-authored called “Kisses in Space.” Many kids tuned in to hear this special reading including her two kids and children from St. Jude’s Children's Hospital. Sarah Gillis did a live violin cover of Rey’s Theme by John Williams. This cover was not made alone, she connected with children's orchestras from all over the world to share the historic moment (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lD1ixTr4JWY&t=242). She is now the first person to play violin in space. Both women are now the women who have traveled the furthest into space. They are also not new to the space world. They both are lead space operation engineers at Space X.
The Dragon landed on 9/16 in Florida successfully. This brings us closer to civilian trips to space. This mission is one crewed by all civilians. Only one crew member, Isaacman, had been to space once before. He was a part of the last Space X civilian mission. While floating around in the Dragon, you can see the crew with their patched form Mr. Stitch.
During the crew's training, they also used patches by Mr. Stitch.
This was a huge project and we are proud to be a small part of this project. It is an honor to have had our patches out in space and throughout the whole project. Quality good enough for space!
Signing off
