Custom Golf Glove Patches for a Commercial Project

We do not get golf gloves in the shop every day, so this was a fun one to figure out. The challenge was simple: the gloves needed custom branding, but the gloves themselves were not suitable for direct embroidery.

Why We Couldn’t Embroider the Gloves Directly

Golf gloves can be tricky because there is very little room to hoop and position them safely on an embroidery machine. On this pair, direct embroidery was not a practical option, so we had to find another way to add the design.

The Velcro Flap Gave Us a Solution

Luckily, these gloves had a Velcro flap. That gave us a clean place to add a custom patch without forcing the entire glove into the embroidery machine.

We created the logo patches specifically around the shape and size of that flap, so they would feel like part of the glove rather than an oversized patch added afterward.

The customer also supplied the material used for the patches so the finished pieces would coordinate more closely with the leather gloves.

Made for a Commercial

These gloves were created for commercial work, so now I’ll be keeping an eye out to see if they make it on screen. Projects like this are always fun because sometimes the finished piece leaves our Sherman Oaks shop and shows up somewhere completely different. This was a good reminder that direct embroidery is not always the only answer. Sometimes the item itself tells us we need a different approach, and a custom patch solves the problem much more cleanly.
